Chappy’s journey began in El Paso, where he was found in rough conditions, neglected and confined outside in a small dog run. A compassionate realtor and a determined couple stepped in, ultimately negotiating his rescue by purchasing the home to secure his freedom. Soon thereafter, the family decided that Chappy was not right for them, so they reached out to Red River. Chappy is ready to start a new chapter with a loving family. 

Chappy would do best in a patient and experienced home that can provide guidance and training. Everything is new to him, but he’s quick to learn. He currently shares his foster home with three other Old English Sheepdogs (two males, ages 2 and 6, and one female, age 6), and he enjoys their company. His behavior around cats is unknown.

Chappy is great on a leash and can walk for miles. He knows how to use a doggy door, and is eager to learn new things. Chappy loves to be by your side, ensuring he’s always part of the action. Despite his size (55 pounds), he believes he’s a lap dog and loves snuggling up close. 

His goofy personality shines through when he gets excited, bringing joy to everyone around him. Chappy is a loving, energetic dog who is ready to bring joy and companionship to the right family. Fetch was found as a stray. He is currently in a boarding facility due to lack of fosters in his area. He loves playing with the other dogs and is so much fun to be around. 

Weighing only 35 lbs, we think Fetch will remain on the smaller side. He is all white except for his ears which have a bit of gray on them. He has the most beautiful goldish/greenish eyes that will melt your heart.

Gracie is a sweet natured 3 year old girl who loves pets and belly rubs. She’s always happy to see you and seeks out affection often. Gracie is house broken, and walks well on a leash, but would benefit from continued training to improve walks and general manners. Gracie has had freedom in her foster home so it is uncertain how she feels about being crated. Gracie had some difficulty adjusting to sharing her space with her new foster brother and sister but has settled in & loves running around and playing in the backyard. She might be happier being the only dog if she doesn't have time to get to know any new housemates. Gracie arrived at her foster home weighing only 40 pounds. She was covered in small injuries from ticks & cactus needles. She is now recovered from those, as well as surgery, and is doing great! This bonded pair were an owner surrender. They lost their father two years ago in an accident and now their mom’s health has deteriorated and she is being moved into an assisted living facility. She did not want to let these two go, but unfortunately she had no choice. 

If you are looking for two perfect sheepdogs, then look no further. Located in Yukon, Oklahoma Kitty is 4 years old and Puppy is 8 years old. Kitty walks around with a stuffed animal in her mouth most of the time. She is so cute you can’t help but hug her. With the most beautiful big brown eyes she will melt your heart. 

Puppy loves pretty bows in her hair. She tries to talk to you and will even smile at times. Kind hearted, with the most amazing disposition these two are truly a dream come true. Housebroken, leash trained, they are even wonderful in a vehicle. 

Puppy & Kitty are laid back, easy going girls. They enjoy sunbathing by the pool, and laying around in the air conditioning while you watch tv. They sometimes forget they are big girls and will try to climb in your lap. These two have the sweetest disposition and love everyone they meet.

Happy go lucky, and as cute as can be, this boy is 2 years old. Watson has figured out how to use a doggy door and is very smart. He is an active youngster that would love a young family to play with. Watson likes children and everyone he meets. Watson is in a home with 3 other sheepdogs but he would prefer to be an only dog. 

Watson tested positive for heartworms. He can still be adopted as the rescue will continue to pay for his treatment until his heartworms are all gone.

Pickles is the dopey, sweet one. He's very young acting, and he wants to be physically touching either a person or dog at all times. He definitely follows what other dogs do, too, and is constantly looking for approval from someone. He also doesn't have the strongest grasp on what's playing and what is annoying to other dogs, lol. But, that lack of inhibition serves him well come play time. He is definitely the velcro-y-est of the three (you might say needy, though in a very sweet way), even though they're all sheepdogs and love to be around you.

Gilda is the perfect little girl. She loves to play, but she's also a bit quieter than the others. She stays firmly within the boundaries set by both people and dogs, and she's a little more cautious around new things. She definitely has a watch instinct, too. Louise does well with kitties, but prefers to be the only dog in the home. She is housebroken and crate trained. She does well on a leash and enjoys going for walks. Loving and so sweet she will completely melt your heart.

DUKE

Duke is a 6-year-old, happy-go-lucky dog with a calm, unbothered demeanor. Currently in a foster home in Scottsdale, AZ, Duke is eagerly searching for his forever family to shower him with love.

Duke is a true “velcro” dog who loves being close to his humans. He thrives in a serene environment where he can relax, chew on his toys, and snuggle with his family. Duke’s bursts of energy are a delight to watch as he joyfully runs around and plays, bringing a smile to everyone’s face. His favorite moments are spent by your side, whether lounging on the couch or going for a walk around the park.

Duke is house broken, great on a leash, excellent in the car, and knows basic commands. Although he’s kennel trained, he doesn’t need to be kenneled as he is non-destructive. Duke doesn’t know how to use a dog door but will signal when he needs to go out by sitting by the door. 

Duke is a healthy young man with no current health problems. He is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. At 85 pounds, Duke is about 5-10 pounds overweight and is on a weight management plan, including daily walks.

Duke is best suited for a household without children under 12. He currently lives with two male Old English Sheepdogs, ages 2 and 6, and while he’s a bit grumpy with the younger dog, he could potentially live with other dogs with patience and training. His behavior around cats is unknown.

Becca is a 1 1/2 year old who loves everyone she meets. So sweet, this girl who was once a little shy has started coming out of her shell. She gets the morning “zoomies” and runs through the house with excitement to start the new day. Becca is a happy girl with so much love to give. 

Becca does well with other dogs and enjoys being around children. She is housebroken and almost crate trained. She can now sit and is learning other commands. She is not yet great on a leash, but she is starting to figure it out. 

Becca was one of five dogs surrendered to the rescue. All five dogs lived outside and had no training. They were very malnourished and none of them weighed over 40 lbs.

Poppy is a 2-3 y/o energetic girl with beautiful brown eyes. She was only 37lbs when we first brought her into the rescue, but is now 54 lbs. 

Poppy is housebroken, crate trained, and loves riding in the car. Her favorite game is tug-of-war. She loves other dogs, kids, and everyone she meets. 

Poppy is still a little mischievous and loves to gather things from around the house and put them in a pile. She needs a little more practice on the leash as she will pull hard and fast at times. She is sweet and loyal.

Located in Platte City, Missouri, Louise is a very affectionate 4.5 year old , 100 pound girl that loves to follow her chosen person around the house. She currently spends her days snoozing under the desk at her foster mom's feet and asks for nothing more than to be close. She gives happy little jumps and wiggles her butt with excitement when her foster mom comes home from errands or a longer day at the office. Louise has access to the entire house when her foster family is away and has not spent any time in a crate, It is unknown if she is crate trained. She is house trained and has had no accidents in the house. 

Louise enjoys walks through the neighborhood and rides in the car. It's obvious she was well taken care of in her original home as she enjoys being brushed and tolerates baths, blow drying and having her feet handled very well. She gets along great with the teenage boys in her foster home, but definitely prefers to be with her foster mom. Louise currently lives with two female goldendoodles and while she lives most of her day harmoniously with them, she also exerts her desire to be the alpha by growling at them from time to time. She has no interest in becoming friends with the dogs of the house. Louise would probably be happiest living as an only dog.

Pickles likes other dogs and playing with children. She is still very much a puppy and can be a little naughty at times. Stella is deaf and has been diagnosed with a heart murmur. After seeing a cardiologist and having numerous tests done, including an echocardiogram the doctor feels she is doing great and no medicine or special restrictions are needed at this time. She is fine with dog-savvy cats and really likes other dogs, though she can be a little awkward when getting to know them. Luna is deaf, but it doesn’t really affect her day-to-day life. There are many resources and groups that can help support your journey with a deaf pup! She is working on some anxiety issues and will thrive in a home where people are around most of the time. She would also be happy to go to work with someone! Luna is an exceptionally sweet and funny pup, and anyone would be lucky to have her in their lives.

This special boy is Asher. He is located in El Paso, Texas. 

Asher did not have use of his back legs when we first brought him into the rescue. We believe he was born paws first and when mom was giving birth to him she dislocated both legs trying to pull him out. 

Asher has just received his second FHO surgery. Both hips have now been operated on and he will be available for adoption soon. Asher will need someone to work with him as he begins to walk for the first time in his life. His legs are still very stiff but in time we hope they will begin to bend and become flexible.

Daisy’s owner passed away unexpectedly. Sadly there was no one to take care of her. We were notified of her situation and brought her into our rescue.

his adorable 1 year old girl is Located in Las Vegas, Nevada. When we first received Pumpkin she had been starved. Weighing barely 30 lbs you could see every bone in her body. She was so weak she could barely stand. It took several weeks for her to gain back her strength and weight, but today she is a healthy, happy girl with no known health issues. 

Pumpkin loves attention and spending time with people. She can be a bit shy at first but warms up quickly. Pumpkin has a lot of energy and loves to play. She does well on a leash and likes to go for walks. Some loud noises will startle her but she is learning they will not hurt her. 

Pumpkin likes other dogs but she is guarded at first and will need time to feel safe around them. Once she feels safe she enjoys playing and running with them. Pumpkin likes children of all ages but small children make her nervous. 

Pumpkin is housebroken, crate trained, and very smart. She is quick to learn but needs someone patient who understands the neglect and hurt she has gone through. Someone who will give her time to adjust to a new life without pain and suffering. 

Pumpkin is a little energizer bunny who is just learning how great life can be. She loves to snuggle up against you but does well independently too. She is a sweet and fun sheepdog who has a zest for life.

This adorable girl was found as a stray in Oklahoma. Super sweet, she likes other dogs, children, and loves everyone she meets. Ash is approximately 1 year old and very active. She is a bit stubborn but very smart. While she is crate trained, she does have separation anxiety and does not do well in a crate when left alone in the house. Ash is in Yukon, Oklahoma 

SHEEP

Located in Holyoke, Colorado is this absolutely adorable 2 year old boy named “Sheep”. 

Sheep is a very well trained sheepdog. He has been to a private trainer and knows numerous commands from “Sit, stay, to lay down” He is leash trained, rides great in a vehicle, and is completely housebroken. He is an AKC registered sheepdog who is neutered, and fully vaccinated. 

Sheep lived in a home with one person. He became very protective of that person. Although the owner loved him very much she felt he would do better in a different home. 

Sheep should be the only pet in the home. While we are told he can be with other dogs if they are introduced slowly, it would be best if he were the only one. 

ATHENA

This adorable 3 1/2 year old girl is located in Yukon, Oklahoma. Elle has a sweet and wonderful disposition. She loves everyone she meets and can be with children and adults of all ages. She is housebroken and crate trained. Elle does well on a leash, likes to go for walks, and rides well in a vehicle. Elle does not beg for food, and has wonderful manners. 

Elle was used for breeding. She is very smart but is still learning simple commands like “sit and stay”. She will jump up on new people she meets, but is very careful and gentle when she does. She is learning not to do that. 

Elle was surrendered to our rescue because she was not getting along with the other females in the breeding program she was in. The owner says she does well with males but she would do best as the only dog in the home. Elle can be walked around other dogs and even nose to nose with them through a doggy gate without altercation. 

Elle needs a home with a 6 foot or higher stockade fence. Short chain link fences are climbable and she will get over them. Elle does not climb fences to run away but to be with you if you leave her outside too long. She also loves to be around other dogs even if she doesn’t always do well with them. She still wants to be a part of the pack. 

Elle is a smaller sheepdog weighing only 56 lbs. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested and microchipped. She is one of the sweetest sheepdogs in our rescue♥️

This cute little boy was born 11-9-22 and is located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Simon’s mom is a sheepdog but we do not know who the father is. Simon is primarily black and white but has a little brindle mixed in. He has one blue eye, one brown eye, and a tail. 

Simon is a happy healthy puppy who loves everyone! He likes to play with other dogs and has fun trying to play with cats. He is a sweet puppy who likes to snuggle, but can be a little ornery at times. This cutie will melt your heart with his adorable puppy antics.

Penelope is 3 years old. Sweet and social, she gets along well with other dogs and people. Penelope had "TVT" , a form of cancer. TVT is sexually transmitted from dog to dog, but unlike other cancers, once treated this one does not come back. Penelope went through several rounds of chemotherapy. She is now cancer free and healthy!

Penelope is housebroken, crate trained, and does well in a vehicle. She loves to be petted and doesn't pull on the leash. She takes treats from your hand and is very gentle. She is 55 lbs and has a docked tail. Penelope is in Benson, Arizona

CHARLIE



Charlie was an owner surrender, born November 29, 2021 he is still just a puppy. Charlie is housebroken and can sit and shake your hand with his paw. Charlie rides well in a vehicle and is crate trained. He still pulls on a leash but he is improving. Charlie likes to be brushed and enjoys watching tv. 

Charlie enjoys playing fetch with a ball. He can entertain himself by pushing a ball around the house and jumping around it. He is a loving and loyal puppy, very smart, with a strong herding instinct. He will follow you absolutely everywhere. 

Charlie resource guards his food, but if you simply walk away until he is done eating you will have no problems. Charlie does not like other dogs and will need to be adopted to someone without pets. 

Charlie would be perfect for someone who is retired, or home most of the time. Someone without young children who doesn't want to take their dog everywhere with them. Someone who just likes to hang out with their puppy and play a little fetch, or tug of war. 

Charlie does well with company, and likes other people. He sometimes resource guards his toys, and loud noises can upset him. Charlie is in Temple, Texas.

Harley is a beautiful sweet girl who gave birth to the 6 puppies we have posted. She is approximately 1 1/2 years old. Her owner did not want her or the puppies. He threatened to dump them in the desert so we brought them into our rescue. Harley is a doodle but we do not know what kind of doodle. She likes other dogs and is a sweet girl. A little timid at first, she quickly warms up. Harley’s world has been flipped upside down so she doesn’t really know where she belongs. She can jump and escape yards with short fences so it is important that her forever home has at least a 6 foot fence. This adorable girl will melt your heart

Zeke is a 2 year old male sheepdog. A happy spirited youngster who is adventurous and fun. 

Sadie is a 4 year old doodle. Friendly and sweet this girl loves her squeaky toys. Both dogs are housebroken and know simple commands. 

An Owner surrender in Houston, Texas Zeke and Sadie are a wonderful duo who are very friendly, and well mannered. They can be with older children and have no known food aggressions. Zeke & Sadie have been well cared for and loved, but have not been exposed to a lot of the outside world. They can be a little Leary of new people and some cars scare them while walking outside. These two are a bonded pair and will need to be adopted together.

Located an hour outside of Little Rock, Arkansas this father son duo are as cute as can be. Stanley is the father of Oliver. He is approximately 3 years old. Oliver is just under 1 year old. Stanley is a dominate male, Oliver is more submissive. Stanley has a docked tail where Oliver does not. Both do well with other dogs, but Stanley needs to be introduced slowly. These two need to be adopted together.
